About
Tengo,
from the inside
Two founders, a team of about fifteen people, and one conviction that does not move: AI should free public sales teams, not replace them.
STORY
A conviction born in the field, not on a whiteboard
We were responding to public tenders ourselves. And like everyone we spoke to, we spent an insane amount of time filling in boxes instead of thinking about what truly makes the difference: understanding the buyer, building an offer that deserves to win.
The launch of ChatGPT in late 2022 put words to what we had sensed. Public procurement is essentially a documents business. And AI was going to change everything.
We gave ourselves six months to test the intuition: over 100 interviews, ten days of field immersion, conversations with public buyers as much as with respondents. What we took from it still shapes Tengo today: detection is a way in, not an end. To truly change teams' daily work, you have to cover the whole chain, from monitoring to writing the bid.
A few months after launch, five of our first six clients chose to invest in Tengo. That is the strongest signal we could receive.
Tengo blends two words: tender, and tango, the dance for two. Because in a public tender, buyer and respondent truly need to understand each other for the encounter to happen.
VISION
AI gives you back the time to respond well.
Sales teams wear themselves out responding to everything, standardize their proposals, and miss the contracts they could genuinely have won. The cost is not only wasted time: at the end of the chain, it is also a citizen who receives a less well-designed service, a less thoughtfully planned infrastructure, a less well-justified use of public money.
AI is not here to replace teams. It is here to free them from the documentation burden, so they spend less time on compliance and more on what really matters: understanding the buyer, building a distinctive offer, defending a commercial point of view.
Bid less. Win more. That is the commitment we make to every client who joins Tengo.
